If you are the kind of person who has the power to avoid physically cringing when the words ‘role’ and ‘play’ fall in the same sentence, then you probably already know about Improv; the cooler, playful younger sibling to a stand-up comedy evening. I arguably fall too close to the mortified end of the spectrum to enjoy such carefree frivolity. It was such a surprise therefore that I stumbled across the ICC, and enjoyed myself.
Rumour has it that the Danes are the happiest people on the planet and I can understand it after this evening. The ICC Thursday night show is billed as a series of games, which is true but less cringe than it sounds. Audience participation is encouraged but not in a way that is pushy if you want to be the one person sitting, listening and enjoying a beer. This was a steal at 80kr, ideally located near Gammel Strand (former fish market) and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. Incidentally if you’re in the area you can visit Cocks and Cows. The owners have been careful to point out that the cocks are cocktails 😂
A wander home through the city at 9:30 is enjoyable, since many of the city’s buildings are lit at night giving the place a more modern feel.
The city feels easy to get around, and even I managed not to get lost 👍
